This assignment\nis also intended to give you a chance to prepare a presentation that you could\npropose for either a disciplinary or DH conference. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Task: <\/strong>Prepare a <strong>\u00ad\u00ad10-minute<\/strong>\noral presentation that<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Summarizes\n<ol><li>research\nquestions<\/li><\/ol><ol><li>source\nmaterials<\/li><\/ol><ol><li>analytical\nmethods<\/li><\/ol><ol><li>findings<\/li><\/ol><\/li><li>Describes\nthe significance of this project. Where does it fit in the field and how does\nit engage with existing literature?<\/li><li>Feel\nfree to explain what worked well and what challenges you ran into as you\nconducted your research. <\/li><li><strong>Include visuals<\/strong>, images of your source materials,\ndescriptions\/images of the data, and anything else that contributes to your\nexposition.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Criteria for Success:<\/strong> See attached presentation rubric.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An exemplary\npresentation will meet the following expectations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The type of presentation is appropriate for the topic and academic\naudience. Technical terms\nare well-defined. Presentation contains accurate information. Material included\nis relevant. The amount of material is appropriate and points made reflect well\ntheir relative importance. Obvious conclusion summarizes the presentation.<\/li><li>Speaker maintains good eye contact; is appropriately animated; and\nuses a clear, audible voice. Delivery is poised, controlled, and smooth. Visual\naids are well prepared, informative, effective, and not distracting. Length of\npresentation is within the assigned time limit (10 min).
